The Robinson R44 is a four-place light helicopter produced by the Robinson Helicopter Company. The R44 is a single-engined helicopter. It seats one pilot and three passengers. Designed during the 1980s by Frank Robinson and his engineers, the R44 first flew on March 31, 1990. The R44 Raven is produced in two models: The R44 Raven I – high reliability, fuel economy, endurance, and comfortable hydraulic controls. Also available as Clipper I with fixed utility floats. The high-performance R44 Raven II – designed for more payload, higher altitudes, and faster speeds with all the luxuries of the Raven I. Variations include: Clipper II, Police Helicopter and Newscopter.
